Music and Kirtan Classes

The Guru Gobind Singh Gurdwara provides a range of opportunities for members of the sangat to learn Kirtan and to play the traditional instruments that are used to accompany Kirtan.

Paath and Kirtan Classes

The Sukhmani Sahib Paath and Kirtan classes are held every Thursday from 5:30pm until 7:30pm.

These classes are aimed at adults who wish to learn how to perform Paath in front of the Sangat.

Music classes

The music classes teach how to play the harmonium and the tabla. Both these instruments are used to accompany the Kirtan during religious services to play the raga (or tune) of the shabad.

Harmonium Class

The Harmonium classes for women and children are held every Wednesday from 7:00 pm until 8:30pm in the Lower Music Room.

On Sunday 21st November 2004, the class recited Kirtan to the sangat. This is a short 2 minute Windows Media video clip of this recital.

Tabla Classes

The tabla classes are held every Wednesday from 7:00pm until 8:30pm in the Upper Diwan Hall.
