Educational Classes

WaheGuru Ji Ka Khalsa, WaheGuru Ji Ki Fateh.

There are a number of different educational classes and activities run by the Guru Gobind Singh Gurdwara. There is a Children's Punjabi School, classes in Sikhism, classes on how to play the harmonium and tabla, a library along with Study Support Workshops for children.

Sikhism for children This class teaches the basic beliefs of Sikhism; the teachings of the Gurus and provides opportunities to learn shabads from the Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

For children aged 5 and above with the class in English.

G.C.S.E. and A.S. in Sikhism This class teaches about Sikhism and in preparation to take the G.C.S.E and the A.S Level examinations.
All ages are welcome.

Women's Computer Classes The aim of this class is to encourage women who have no prior knowledge of computing to learn how to write letters, surf the Internet and E-mail.

All levels are welcome.

Matrimonial Service This is a confidential service that has been set up to support families to find a suitable partner for their son or daughter. Whilst we value and respect our traditional ways, we appreciate the difficulties experienced by families. 6:30pm - 7:30pm

Music Classes The harmonium and tabla classes are aimed at all levels and ages.

The aim is to develop confidence to perform in front of the Sangat.

Thursday Path and Kirtan Classes These classes are aimed at adults who wish to learn how to perform Path infront of the Sangat. 5:30pm - 7:30pm

Women's Keep Fit This class is led by a bilingual tutor and helping to raise issues of healthy eatingand the importance of healthy lifestyles for themselves and their families. 4:00pm - 6:00pm

Saturday Ladies Keep Fit Classes Second opportunity to keep fit and healthy aided by a bilingual tutor. 9:30pm - 11:30pm

Sunday Children's Punjabi Classes Children are taught to speak, read and write in Punjabi. The starting age is 5 years and most children progress to take GCSE Punjabi with an excellent success rate.

Prize Days are held annually in September and help to encourage and inspire the children and their families.
